Scope of Work
The scope of this project was a single story renovation, where attention to detail and collaboration played a crucial role.
Responding to the client’s desire for a skylight in the bathroom, a collaborative effort with the building surveyor, energy rater, and draftsman was essential to bring this vision to life. In the absence of an architect, Eltcon worked closely with the client to navigate selections and finishings.
For a distinctive bathroom aesthetic, a freestanding bath and concrete sinks were chosen, creating a unique visual impact. The incorporation of 23-40 doors, taller than standard doors, enhances the spacious feel of the rooms.
Premium blackbutt flooring was used throughout the interior. To infuse warmth into the external appearance, timber slatting was meticulously installed on the house’s facade, elevating the overall aesthetic of the exterior.
The tendering process as well as the support to get all the approvals from council was relatively seamless and very helpful.
Something that makes Eltcon stand out from the rest is that at the beginning of the project, Kyle met us at Harvey Norman and helped with selecting our fixtures and fittings. We were able to select the majority of our purchases in one go which we were thankful for.
We had a lot of upfront discussions that allowed us to make some tweaks to the original plans e.g. pushing the kitchen out which meant an overall design and better outcome.
In terms of workmanship, we do believe that Eltcon has done a tremendous job here. It is evident that as a company you take great pride in your work and it clearly comes through.
The home we now have exceeded our expectations and we are very pleased with the final outcome.
The builders were always very friendly and respectful when we had meetings or site visits and the site itself always appeared to be clean which meant the team respected our house.
Although the house was built during COVID times, we also very much appreciated the effort that went into not passing on additional costs (where possible) to us as well as trying to minimise the impact of time delays to the build.
In the most part, it always felt like Eltcon was trying to plan in advance around materials etc.
We would definitely recommend Eltcon to friends and family.
