Blackburn
Scope of Work
The scope of this project was a renovation with an extension out the back.
The client is retired and wanted a home that perfectly suited this stage in their life. They knew exactly what they wanted to achieve.
As there was no architect involved in this project, Eltcon worked closely with the client to help with the selections and finishings. The result was a home that truly reflected the client and their vision. The client’s desire for a subtle French provincial styling served as a guiding theme.
The achieved aesthetic not only owes itself to the choice of brushed gold tapware in the large kitchen and bathrooms but also to the incorporation of farmhouse-style sinks and the retention of the charming old fireplace, offering a nostalgic nod to the home’s history.
The external brick for the existing home was retained. The exterior cladding that was added on as part of the extension underwent a unique treatment—charred through an open flame and stained to achieve a rich, dark hue.
The decking, crafted from black butt wood, represents a premium choice that enhances both aesthetics and durability.
Eltcon showed how brilliant home builders can be if they wish to be. They were considerate, efficient, flexible, and helpful in finding the right solutions for us. Not only was our home renovated according to the given timetable, the workmanship was of high quality throughout.
Eltcon handled the saving of the existing brickwork brilliantly, even though it brought some unforeseen challenges. Really, we could not be happier with their work.
